PETA INTERNACIONAL, INFORMA

.
Dear Vanessa,
.
By supporting PETA today, you can help reduce the suffering of cows and other animals raised for the table.
,
More cows than ever before are denied their natural rights to enjoy peaceful days in grassy fields.
That's because these days, more and more cows raised for their milk are kept confined to filthy sheds. They're hooked up to milking machines several times each day and are given antibiotics just to keep them going long enough for the beef and dairy industries to make a profit.
.
To keep the milk flowing, cows are artificially impregnated as often as biologically possible, giving birth until their bodies finally give out. Their reward for producing calves for the meat industry – and to replace themselves on the dairy farm milking line – is being goaded onto a lorry and driven to an abattoir. Once there, they are dismembered and skinned – sometimes while they are still conscious.
.
These poor cows' calves face the same lousy life and death. The female calves will become the next generation of milk machines. The males will either be exported to other countries to face a short, absolutely miserable life in the veal industry or shot shortly after birth, as they are considered useless.
.
Cows on factory farms urgently need your help. By making an online donation to PETA today, you will help support PETA's vital investigations and exposés of the dairy and beef industries around the world.
.
Like cows raised for their milk, cows raised for their flesh suffer terribly. Their horns are chemically burned off their skulls. Fattened up in barren, concrete-floored sheds, cows are fed an unnatural diet that can cause painful stomach ailments, which can lead to lameness. Poor ventilation and high humidity increase the risk and spread of infection, and many cows become terribly sick as a result.
.
Even though the law requires that cows be rendered unconscious before they are killed, the high-speed assembly line designed to stun them often fails, which means some cows are skinned and dismembered while they are still conscious.
.
As you must know, grossly inadequate "animal welfare" standards play a significant role in the spread of diseases such as "foot and mouth"' and mad cow. If not for the animals' sake, then for the sake of human health, the industrialised farming business must clean up its act. There must be vast improvements in the living and dying conditions of the animals raised and slaughtered for meat and milk.
.
Please make a generous contribution to PETA right now and help us give cows and other animals a chance at a life that consists of less pain and suffering. Thank you.
.
Kind regards,
.

PS Please help us combat the terrible conditions that cows and other animals on factory farms suffer in every day. No animal should ever have to live and die this way.
