Horrific isn't it? UK laboratories last year forcibly subjected more than 3 million individual animals – all with feelings and fears – to some of the most needless and often gruesome experiments imaginable.

The story of Daisy makes for horrifying reading, but I urge you to please read on. Like many animals in laboratories, Daisy was likely sold to a commercial laboratory when she was just a small puppy, specifically for the purpose of being subjected to painful and deadly experiments.
.
In the laboratory, she was confined to a small barren cage. When she was fed, a toxic substance was deliberately mixed into her food. She quickly became sicker and sicker. Her back legs became weak and she lost control over her movements. She was racked with painful muscle spasms. Eventually she died – even before she was scheduled to be killed by the vivisectors who were carrying out the experiment.
.
Daisy suffered terribly. After enduring what can only be described as torture, her poisoned body gave up. Her death was lonely and painful. For what reason was Daisy subjected to such agony? What was the substance they put in her food? The chemical which was tested on Daisy was a plant growth regulator – a from of plant food!
.
Daisy's story is just one story, but there are millions of animals imprisoned in UK laboratories that need your help.
.
We desperately need your help today to put a stop to the torture of animals in laboratories. Unfortunately, it's already too late to spare Daisy her suffering, but it's not too late for the millions of other individual animals who are being subjected to needless experiments each year.
.
A donation to PETA today is one of the best ways you can help stop animal suffering. Even with as much progress as we have made, too many animals like Daisy still need to be saved from lives filled with pain and abuse. With your support, we can help end the torture and killing of animals who are locked behind laboratory doors.

The pain and suffering endured by many of these dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs and other animals is even referred to by the vivisectors themselves as "severe". Many animals are cut open without anaesthetics. Their skin and eyes are burned with chemicals, and ultimately they are poisoned, gassed, electrocuted or otherwise killed for the sake of "science".

PETA and our affiliates are the greatest force on the planet fighting for the rights of all animals. We target organisations and corporations whose actions result in the abuse of animals – no matter how large or powerful the companies may be! PETA's affiliates have already successfully persuaded huge multi-national corporations such as PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, General Motors, Estée Lauder and hundreds more to abandon animal tests for good.

You can help by making an online donation today. Your support could help us turn many more companies away from cruel animal tests and help save the lives of millions of individual animals every year..

PS No animal should suffer and die as Daisy did. Animal testing is cruel, expensive and unreliable. It's bad science. But working together, we can end these unnecessary animal tests. Don't wait another minute. Please give generously today and help us end the abuse of animals.
